We’re excited to introduce one of our newest DoggyRade sponsored athletes, Vickie Pullin – the UK’s leading female dog sled racer and former member of the British Snowboard Cross Team. Vickie’s story proves that achieving peak performance is a process that requires true commitment. We are delighted to be sponsoring her over the next two years and following her along as she continues this incredible journey.
Vickie lives in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire and is a former member of the British Snowboard Cross Team. She is the leading female sled dog racer in the UK, holding multiple top 15 world rankings. She competes in race sprinting in four-dog rig/sled, two-dog scooter and one-dog bike. She is the only British racer to hold a sprint World Cup standing on the sled and now she sets her sights on the biggest prize of all - to become a World Champion. Vickie has been working with sled dogs now for 16 years and six years ago she began sled racing.
“The dogs have changed my life and given me the motivation and determination to try and make this dream into a reality. A few years ago, we had our best results to date. We achieved silver at the World championships in Italy on the Bike and also became the Italian champion on the snow with the sled.”
Vickie now owns 37 dogs and considers this simply to be a way of life, as the level of work involved is beyond most people’s comprehension. We look forward to working with such a dedicated athlete over the next two years and wish Vickie and her team of dogs the best of luck in their upcoming events and competitions. Keep an eye out on DoggyRade social media channels for updates.
